How to Domains with Your Keywords?
Domain Names…what’s good and what’s bad.
There are many ways to look at that question, or should I say, answer that question. The first thing to consider is the purpose of your website and domain name. For instance, are you advertising an offline business? If this is the case than you want a domain name that is easy to remember, easy to write down, brands your business and if possible has a keyword or two in the domain name. And maybe the most important is that the domain is a .com name.
In other words, the domain will end in .com not .info…, .net…., .org etc. The .com ending instantly conveys presense on the internet. To some it might indicate that you have been on the interent for a long term of time. In any case, the .com ending seems to convey a degree of comfort to the normal internet surfer or better put, someone surfing for your business. If you’re creating content sites that you wish to be autority sites or portal sites then its important to get a domain name with your keyword in it.
I ran into a couple of ways you might come up with these keyword laden domain names. This first site is free and you can find it at Keyword Laden Domain Names the site is intuitive, simple enter your keyword and you’ll get some options. I’m assuming you’ll be using the site for adsense, ccp, or some other form of monetization like affiliate marketing. In case you’re brand new. Let’s say your putting up a site on flyfishing and it will only have 10 articles. You have your low hanging keywords, you know what type of traffic to expect and your looking to monetize by collecting email and name along with adsense, your own plr prduct and maybe affiliate products. This is important and the point of this post….doesn’t it make sense to have a domain name with some form of the word flyfishing?
I use Godaddy to purchase all my domains and you can usually find a discount by clicking on the small banner below:
Another tool for finding keyword laden domain names is a tool by Rod Beckwith called ….Domain Suggestion Tool Good luck and have some fun. The whole business of internet marketing is putting together the pieces as you learn them…while yet, being able to discern the difference between the basics and following a rabbit trail. Don’t get stuck following rabbit trails
Best Wishes, Scott
